Gas Saving Driving Tips That Could Save You Big Time At The Pumps
Do you find yourself filling up every few days?  Does it seem to cost more every time too?

You need some cool driving tips that will save you from guzzling so much gas you could cause an oil shortage all by yourself!

Here are my Gas Saving Driving Tips:

Plan ahead:

Where possible if you have your route planned out you will save a lot of time and fuel by going the most efficient route to your destination.

We’ve all done it.  A few miles journey can take twice as long with wrong turns, missed junctions and heavy traffic.

Plan it out properly, avoid the busy periods and rush hours and try to stick to straight roads rather than very windy ones that require you to brake at every corner.  The extra fuel involved in fast/slow or stop/start driving is quite staggering compared to what you use on the straight.

Combine chores and activities into one trip:

Here’s a usual scenario.  The kids need to be dropped off at school.  One trip.  Then we drive home.  A few bills need paying so we drive to the post office to drop off the post.  Another trip.  Then we drive home.  Running low on supplies so drive to the shops and get dinner.  Another trip… you get the picture.

Why not car-pool the school run? Then make one trip into town to post the letters, shop for dinner and whatever?

That alone would slash your fuel bill by two thirds!  Heck, it might even help with the environment.

Drive like a chauffer:

Don’t look at me like I’m crazy.  My driving instructor taught me this.  A good chauffer drives smooth and easy. Not screaming away at full pelt as soon as the lights turn red, nor heavy braking into the corners.

No.  Nice and easy does it.  Smoothly up the gears, moving up as soon as possible to get the sweetest ride.  Maybe it doesn't sound as much fun.  But you will get a lot more mileage for your buck this way.

Put some of these gas saving driving tips into action and you’ll not only save money you'll have more time on your hands as you aren’t having to fill up quite so often!
